About me and Contact Information
Hi, I’m John Demlin and I manage the How to Fast website. My goal with this website is to provide information to anyone that wants to learn more about fasting. I have been interested in fasting for more than 20 years. I am not a medical doctor nor do I have anything to do with the health care or alternative medicine industry. I am also not a religious person although I do believe in God and have no arguments with any church or their beliefs.
I started this site because I was amazed how difficult it is to find good, helpful, informative fasting information on the web. The subject is dominated by two types of sites. One is the sales pitch sites. They either want you to buy an e-book, detoxifying related products, or directions for following the most fantastic, miraculous cure for everything-that-ails-you fasting system. The second type of site comes from the perspective of practicing fasting from a particular religious tradition. The selling sites are generally unhelpful because they provide little or even inaccurate information. The religious perspective sites are more mixed. Some of them do have some good information about fasting, but often they are limited in the scope of how they describe how to carry out a fast.
My aim with this site is to be helpful to anyone that is practicing or wants to practice fasting. I’m not claiming to be the final word on any matters presented here nor do I know everything about fasting. This website though can hopefully get you pointed in the right direction, present as much helpful advice as I can find (and I am always looking for more!), and provide some encouragement.
Please do not write me to ask any specific fasting advice. I do not have the time or qualifications to help with individual questions. All of what I can tell you is found within the pages of this website. The homepage has some advice about getting help and finding support.
